SURPRISE!

Still no baby, but here are some random stories and pictures and stories to update everyone as to our life...

Today Michaela learned about the word "surprise" from watching a Sesame Street clip.  She proceeded to spend the next ten minutes walking around the house whispering and then randomly yelling out "SURPRISE!!!!" She knew how funny she was being, because after every "SURPRISE!!!" there was a lot of giggling from her (as well as her mommy).

Our little darling has definitely got spunk (as we like to tell her), and there is never a dull moment with her around.  This past week she decided that:

1) We have alligators in our house. It's her job to point them out, then catch them (sometimes with her "hockey stick gun"), before putting them in the bathtub.  She loves to play her "catching alligators" game with Daddy the most because he play along the best. :)

2) There are times that there she must hide from the bear that is at our house.  This comes from reading the "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" book.  Hiding from the bear is basically just snuggling with whoever will play along under a blanket.  She also likes to randomly recite any parts of the book she knows and we will sometimes hear her saying, "We're going on a bear hunt. We're gonna catch a big one.  We're not scared.  Can't go over it, can't go under it, gotta go through it."

3) "Toy Story is HILARIOUS!" No really, she goes around telling us that any and every time something reminds her of either Toy Story movie.  Last week during dinner Chris said, "Oh really?" in response to one of her may outrageous stories.  Her immediate reply was to look at him and ask, "Are you calling me a liar?!?" (a quote from Jessie in Toy Story 2).  She also likes to point at us and exclaim, "YOU ARE A TOY!"

Here's some pictures of our spunky girl.  Hope you enjoy!

Playing with her new Play-Dough and tools.  This is what you get every time you ask her to smile with a camera in your hand.  I've been taking a lot more candid shots lately... :)

Hmmm... this eclectic outfit is a combination of Mommy and Michaela handiwork.  Due to an impending bath time her ensemble was allowed for a few hours... Personally I had to take the picture to capture how she scrunches up her face every time she has sunglasses on (to keep them from falling off her nose).

BIG GIRL BED!
After a meltdown one night from having to sleep in the "baby bed" again, we assembled her new big girl bed the next day.  It's a toddler bed with rails and she LOVES it! Here she is trying her new bed out while we disassembled the crib. She does a pretty good job of staying in her bed (due to the known punishments of getting out) and still sleeps through the night without incident.
